First Trek into Buenos Aires

Day 2 we drove into Buenos Aires; about 45 minutes south for a tour of the big city with Eva Lena. We first toured Calle Florida, a pedestrian shopping street buzzing with activity & city life.

Natalia's (Lief's cousin) wedding was just days away so the were driving up & down the big bustling boulevards completing last minute purchases sort of like an urban scavenger hunt.

Monte took it all in & crashed out on the way home to La Pampa.

Dad Visits the Farm

Not an hour after we arrived at Eva Lena & Fernando's lovely house in the country did Lief decide to go out for an excursion to La Pampa. Fernando cultivates soy crops so they drove further north to see the harvest; Lief got a chance to ride a thresher & drink mate a la autentica!

The Looong Flight & Arrival in Argentina

We finally took off for Argentina! Our first flight was canceled due to bad weather in Dallas. Our second flight was re-booked due to Monte's croup so...who ever said three is a charm was right!

All in all, it took 24 hours from *door* to *door* & Monte was quite the trooper. I never thought I would seek out children's place spaces in airports but this saved us & made our long layover seems sort of shorter. We all sort of got stir crazy in the end but we made it!

Eva Lena & Fernando were at the airport with big smiles.

Jammin'

Monte dancing along to his music table-top on loan from Zach. He ready enjoys his *a-b-c*s & is getting his rhythm on day by day. The tunes are catchy but slowly driving Momma & Dadda NUTS!
